Icon2 Is it a Nippodenso or Mitsubishi alternator?

I have to buy the "wire and plug that goes from the alternator to the wire harness" so... Is there a difference in the two plugs?

1995 Civic EX, coupe

Thanks...

Both nippondenso and mitsubishi alternators were used in the 5th gen civics. The key is OBD1 plug like tony mentioned.

Just as an FYI, the nippondensor is the better alternator. I guess it handles the salt better than the mitsubishi's.

Thank you, TomCat39. I am glad there were not "two different plugs" rather simply "two different alternators."

Ironically enough... the truck I have broke down on the way to delivering the wiper arms, rear view mirror, and the wire I pictured to the mechanic, to install onto my EJ1. That's.. ironic, right?

.. but, yes, this plug.. I have now.

*edit: Out of curiosity, I will ask/see if it is a Nippodenso. A whole lot of parts they did NOT take from my car. I feel lucky.

Are you missing an alternator plug altogether? If so you'll have to get the OBD1 plug, there's no way around it if your alternator is OBD1

This is an after-effect of the stolen car situation. They stole my alternator wire.

I made a real effort to get one, im actually stunned they said the years of the Civic... was what it was..

I think you can just run a long 8 gauge wire to the battery.

Any 88-95 honda or acura should use the plug you need. Junkyard, Ebay, Craigslist part out, market place in here

True, just trying to save him the hassle of trying to crimp a thick as cable. I guess he'll still have to crimp it either way.

A 250 watt soldering iron will solder the wires without issue. It's what I had to use for the main ignition cable on my wife's car.

tony, Tom: Correct.. I needed the whole plug, with connector on the end. I was able to get it.

and I got charged a truly ridiculous price on the OBD2 wire... I don't even want to mention. If you were me, with receipt in hand, would you go back to that yard that sold that wire, with the wire, calmly explain the situation, and hope for the best on a refund?

Car is running very well now...
