Alright, so I am building an ej6 hatch. I bought a k20a2 from a guy up in Alabama for $600! What a steal, right!? He insisted that it ran fine. So I bought it. Came home, took apart and saw shards in the oil pan. Spun rod bearing. So I took my crank and rod to a machine shop and I'm getting machines as we speak. This is my first time rebuilding an engine. My friend has a lot of experience in rebuilding engines and is guiding me through it. Anyways, my question about the oil pump. How do I know if it's good or bad? It has some play in the bearing and is a little tuff to move. Id like to not spend $250 on an oil pump if I don't have too. Any help is appreciated and welcome. Thanks!
