I accidentally broke the **** on my 95 Honda Accord's a/c and it is stuck on full heat. Is there anyway to turn it down even though its broken? My car always gets really hot even if the a/c is off because it's on full heat. Thanks in advance

 

This is how it broke

 

Ghetto it with vice grips.

 

Close the valve under the hood. It is passenger side next to the firewall.

 

Pull the **** off the fan speed control and turn the temp down.

 

The fan switch is a small slide switch and the temp control is large so no can do.

 

 

Both mine are the same size. Side by side. #12

 

I think Dorman sells those ***** in a blister pack as a "HELP" part.

 

Source replacement parts from a junkyard. Determine the mode of failure (stupidity etc) to prevent a future failure. The heater position can be manually adjusted at the control valve on the heater core lines in the engine compartment. Since we do not know where the part failed, pulling on the cable may or may not produce a change in heat output.

 

Yea mine broke on me aswell.. I ended up going to the Honda Shop but I cant remember the price for one...

You can get the blend door closed by reaching down under the glove box mostly to the left side and push the lever with the cables in the opposite direction. OR go under the hood and straight down under the throttle body and push the lever on the heater hose to the closed position...
