2000 EM1 Ignition Issues
Long story short my SiR had a hiccup yesterday. Was pulling off the highway towards work when the CEL started flashing and the car lost most of it's power. I was close enough to work that I coasted it there and then shut it off. Car was struggling to idle and. Pulled the codes and it came up with a bunch of misfires (specifically P0301, P0302, P0304, P0300 and P1399. I'm pretty sure I've traced the problem back to the distributor, but I wanted to get a second opinion before I rushed out to buy one. Any thoughts?
The car is getting proper spark? Would that not ELIMINATE the
dizzy?
If you are implying one cylinder is the culprit, that could be something
as simple as 1) a plug wire or 2) the corresponding contact on the
dizzy cap.
This reply assumes no mechanical issues, eg, head gasket etc.

Plugs and wires were replaced virtually right before I bought the car (so they're around 5 months old) I pulled the cap off the distributor. Had a lot of built up crap in there. Cleaned it out and it started running marginally better. Will be replacing the dizzy as soon as I can

If the distributor was dirty and after cleaning it the engine runs smooth, then no need to replace the distributor.
