2000 civic ex not starting
So the other day I was driving and pulled away at a stop sign and my car lost power, bogged down and shut off. I sat for a half hour, checked everything out, then went to restart and it turned on, a little rough, but then it was on just fine, idleing now problem. Give it a little gas and it was bogging down and cutting off. I was able to make it home but I had to barely push the gas, if I gave it to much, it would bog down and cut off. I had codes ran and it came up for O2 sensors bank 1 and 2( which I have had those codes for a long time now, and have not been a probelm, I replaced them and couldn't ever get the codes to go away, and yes I reset them.) and the other code was for the TPS. So I replaced the tps, still didn't start. Oh yeah now it won't start at all. So I checked my IAC valve, and that was put, so I replaced that as well, cause from my understanding that could cause the issue. But NOPE, still not starting. Fuel pump is priming, checked spark, I'm getting spark, seems to be good. It's getting air, as far as I know. I even sprayed starting fluid to see if it would just turn over for a second hoping it was fuel pump, but even starting fluid wouldn't get it going. Any ideas? If you need more info I might have left out, let me know! Thanks yall!
I was thinking timing, but the car was idling just fine and would drive fine when it was running, even at highway speeds, but if I pushed the accelerator more that about 3/4 inch it would just bog down and cut out unless I just let off.. Could timing, or compression really cause that?
Yes it's not starting now, but when I parked it a few days ago, THATS how it was running, so what I'm saying is if it was running as I described above, which to me doesn't seem like a timing or compression issue, then I park it, turn it off, no timing or compression issue would have came up at that time cause it hasn't been running, not saying your wrong, I'm just asking if that's a possibility? Or if that could be the issue, cause it just doesn't seem like it would be, you know what I mean? im not a mechanic but I'm pretty mechanically incline considering its part of my job, so I've kind of already eliminated all of the really simple things some wouldn't have, just trying to get some more opinions from a mechanic or someone who knows more than me
Forget about last week
Thats throwing you off.
Get the motor running
Do a compression test and check the mechanical timing and timing belt
If you have air, fuel, spark check those last two
