Default 02 leaking PS pump cover

It's leaking exactly like in the picture below that I found online. I found a TSB for 5th gen Accords with this exact problem and the remedy was to replace the pump cover seal. The TSB calls for removing the pump off the car but is this necessary? Can't I just remove the 4 flange bolts and swap out the seal?

I also have a leak where the return hose meets the cooler line below the reservoir so I'm also going to take care of that. Interestingly, the pump isn't noisy and the fluid isn't foamy. I guess the pump hasn't started sucking in air...yet.

Obviously its going to leak and there should be springs. Its just easier to do it off the car but im sure it is possible.
