need help..shaking steering wheel
Hello,
I own a civic 2010 having only 25,000 miles.
The steering wheel is shaking badly above 70 mph, i had new wheels recently and balanced the wheels twice. balancing is fine, rims are okay well
No sound for any bad wheel bearings.
Sometimes i hear a very low knocking sound while steering to the right when parking. I guess this is coming from the rack.
Any idea what might cause this shake!
Thanks.

When did the shaking start? Did you hit anything prior to it shaking? Has a shop checked for loose tie rods or ball joints or bushings?
I had the same problem before and ended up one of my wheels was bent.
I put on new wheels now perfect!
People told me it was the shocks or struts which could also cause extra vibrations I would think. So, you may want to check those too.

Actually i bought the car 3 months ago.
The steering wheel shake was there, but i estimated that it is from the old tires that was on the car.
Yah all suspension parts were checked and are tight and still in a very good condition.
In my country there is now snow.
This is making me crazy.
I will try to exchange wheels and tires with a friend who has a civic 2008 and see if the problem will be gone then it will be 100% either from the tires or wheels.
Will keep you posted.

hello Guys.
Seems that the problem is not from the tires.
I realized the shaking is coming under acceleration at a speed above 80mph.
the shakes keeps existing between 80 and 110 mph.
Today i checked the inner axles, while moving it by hand i can hear a clunk sound on both sides.. is this normal or it should not show any movement or sound.
Thanks.

Yes its not under braking, not rotors issue.
Mainly under acceleration, the vibration decrease when NOT on throttle.
If it is an axle problem.. should this vibration exist at 40-70 mph ?
And as mentioned previously.. is it normal to have a clunck when moving the inner axle.
THanks
