I bought myself a 97' civic hatch ej d16 y7 with a td05 turbo a few months back.

I'm looking to replace the clutch&flywheel which are currently a red

The car only pushes around 200bhp right now but it's planned to go a bit
further so i wanted to have that head room in terms of lbs/ft and hp.

Anyway's the new kit is on its way already so debates on how good
it is compared to rivals are irrelevant, all i really want to know is
how difficult (or easy) the clutch install on my s40a gear box is going to be.

tips, tricks, whatever you can say that you'll think will help is greatly appreciated!

 

How can someone possibly answer this question? No one knows your level of skill or access to the proper tools. If you can't tell the difference between a pipe wrench and a crescent wrench then you'll have problems.

Have you even bothered to search for a DIY and judge for yourself?

I should have been more clear.

I am getting it installed in an auto shop, the man has all the tools for the job, he just never installed this specific setup i was just curious if anyone here installed this kit on this type of setup before so i can give the laborer some more information that might save us time, that is all.
And diy on youtube is a good idea, I'm at work so i'll do it later.

 

What specific setup??!!! Its just replacing the clutch and pressure plate with your cheap *** quality kit that you bought. There's nothing to it.

 

Specific setup? It's a friggin' clutch! I suggest you take your business elsewhere. That you even bothered to post this when a shop is doing the work makes no sense. That you asked for tips and tricks on the shop's behalf is mind blowing.

If you've done one manual clutch you can do another.

If you are curious for your own knowledge a google search and or youtube search will provide you with a plethora of information for your learning pleasure.

There is nothing you could possibly tell the shop that they don't already know (assuming they've done clutches int he past). If you try and provide them with info, you will probably just look foolish and invite possible ramifications of demonstrating lack of knowledge, i.e. being gouged for unneeded work/parts.
