Default Blinding headlight...high beam not on! Help!

My girlfriend's 98 Accord has a blinding headlight. The left side is so bright that it looks like the high beam is on. Both the lightbulbs are the same watt. Does anybody what what's wrong or what I can do to help fix the problem?

first things first...check fuses...all of them...wires...from the harness to the headlight assembly, if not, getta new or used headlight assembly and check it out. if it does the same thing, she got screwed!

Are you headlights out of adjustment and one is pointing straight instead of down?

I agree, check the adjustment against a wall. One may be adjusted too high.

I'm not a wiz on this so....how do you adjust it? You just stick the lightbulb in the hole and twist it tight. How do you adjust it to tilt down? Also, the left side seems really dirty and the right side is clean!

pop the hood and there should be screw on either side of the headlight. i'm in a 4th gen so i don't know exactly how it is in your girl's car but i figure it's pretty close. twist the screws to adjust. right will pull it up and left will lower it. has her car been hit in the front? i have a new headlight cuz a chick in a pickup backed into me in a parking lot and it looks a little bit like that, one's shiny and the other a bit duller.
oh ya and the 6th gen has plastic headlights doesn't it. it could be the plastic getting nasty and corroded from exposure to sunlight. have you tried cleaning the lens hmmmmmmmm?

Just for giggles but..

If the Left Side seems to be brighter than the Right Side, wouldn't you assume that there's Resistance in the Right Side Socket which is causing less voltage and amperage to get to and through the bulb.. Therefore making the Left Side look brighter...

But that's considering that you've checked to see if it's just out of alignment..

Good Luck..

Just put the car in a wall, and turn on the light to find out if it is an alignment problem. If it is, you should be able to adjust the headlight so that it is level. If it is not an alignment thing...I don't know what is wrong with it.

If it is an alignment, just pop the hood. 6th gen accords have 2 screws on each headlight assembly. one is for the left to right alignment and the other is for the height adjustment. Don't have my digi cam right now so cannot take a picture of mine....

First. Wash her car, Second. swich the bulbs, Third use the wall for adjusting height, Fourth make sure there is no water or any kind of loose connection, Fifth. If none of the above work, change the light housing. Good luck

You said that one headlight looks newer than the other....if you bought the car used theres a possibility that the car couldve been in an accident and one of the headlight asseblies were changed.
