Hello I have a ek, I had a d16y7 non vtec but I decide to swap it for a d16y8 vtec, I intall the d16y8 with all the harness and computer, now my car won't start, I have spark but no fuel, I have no power to fuel pump, what can I do?

 

Year make model? What year is the engine and harness? Check engine lights on?

 

Car is 2000, and engine I think 97, the d16y8 came with harness and ecu so I thought it would be a plug and play but no

 

You can't use that harness or any other 96-98 as they have different ECU connectors, you must either use your factory harness and add the additional wiring (VTEC, knock, 3-2 wire IACV, extend secondary 02 and use your original distributor for plug and play or an distributor adapter harness) or you can use a 99-00 EX harness and then wire in the secondary 02 manually to the ECU and reuse your original distributor as the plugs differ.

 

So I can't use the harness and ecu that came with the engine?

 

Not unless you get a 96-98 dash harness as well.
