Hello. I recently just bought a 2000 Civic hatch with an LS/VTEC. The problem is that I need emissions ASAP. The check engine light is on and I don't know what is causing it. I plugged In a scanner but the scanner would not link to the car because it has an OBD 1 ecu. Now I know I need an obd 2 ecu for emissions but I don't know what to get. Also another thing is that when I start the car ut idles very low and bounces around and if im not taping the gas it will die. Once I start driving it the idling is fine. Now I really need to solve these problems, if anyone can help, thank you very much.

 

to start, lsvtec will fail the visual test.

 

Depends on the state you live in. You'll prob throw s good number of emissions codes but you could use a P2T or P30 from a 96-97 del sol with an adapter harness, or a 96-98 P72 with adapter harness or a P73 from the itr with corresponding adapter harness for 96-99
