golden eagle b16a ,crower rods cheaper then you will ever see
99b16a2 block, 83mm golden eagle "godzilla" sleeves, balanced and micropollished crank shaft, crower rods (the good ones)
everything has 0 miles except for the rods which were used one month but they have been x-rayed for cracks and balanced and honed
im trying to get 1000.00 for it but ill entertain any offers

crower rods are about 600.00 micro pollished, and balanced crank about 250.00-300.00
so your getting a potentialy 2000.00 dollar block for 100.00

no oil pump also it included ARP main studs and the block caps so i think 900.00 is more then fare
the crower rods are about 600.00 or more
ARP main studs are about 100.00
ballance and polished crank is about 250-300
and the sleeve are about 900.00 for the godzilla
so i think its a pritty good deal

ok, so i took the block to have the saddle and one main tap fixed since it had a crack in it....
i have it all welded up nice, and take it to the machine shop where they will machine it and re-tap it...but i get a call today from them saying it is pointless for them to work on the main hole, because all the other holes have been helicoiled wrong and the bolts just wobble around in them...to fix them, they say the holes would all have to be rewelded and tapped, which he says is more work that its even worth...
so my question is, should "gary" have to pay to have it all fixed, or to have the sleeves put in another block or...am i just being bitchy about a sale gone bad?
but, truthfully i really dont know what to do at this point, i paid to have the crack fixed, which is pointless (more money out of my pocket)...and i dont want to seem bitter about this but, when you sell someone something, and leave out a large detail like that, i would say its wrong...
and ive already purchased pistons for this setup and bearings, and all that stuff...so tell me guys what do you think should happen here??

well im not gonna be bitter about it, its not gonna do me any good to get pissed off...
we did know that there was a problem with the saddle being cracked, and i fully admit gary told me about that...it was no big deal, an easy fix...
but what you as the seller failed to mention was there were more problems with the block, and it is your responsibility as the seller to know what you are selling so problems like this dont arise...
but, yes it was a good deal...but a deal is only as good as it ends up in the end, and this case not so good...
I'm not trying to ruin your name or anything, which is why i havent called you a scammer, which some people very well might have done...but i feel i was wronged in this situation, and you showing no sympathy and basically telling me its not your problem anymore leads me to believe that you are a bad seller...

first of all i never told you it wasnt my problem and and i dont know how i didnt show sympathy, i didnt know that all the holes were screwed up or i would have told you i was only going off what two machine shops told me was wrong...
i dont know how you can call me a "bad seller" i told you everything upfront i was completly honest with you i did everything i told you i was going to do i shipped it out when i told you i was going to i even paid for half the shipping.
sorry but i think you just bitter that its not going the way you want it to, and you taking it out on me and making me look like the "bad guy" but i told you upfront all that i knew was wrong with it i threw in everything i had for the block i sold it for a killer deal because i knew it was going to take some work to fix the cracks
all i can say is what do you want me to do , you baught something you knew need machine work and now that it needs more you want to back out...
and i never told you it wasnt my problem i want to handle this in a profesional manner i dont ever think i gave you the impression that it wasnt my problem i said what do you want me to do?

and yes im mad because things aren't going the way that i wanted them to...i expected there to be one thing needing fixing...and you very well might not have known about the other helicoils...all i am saying is that when you sell something you should let all the details out on the product!
i was told that all the main bolt threads were jacked up and needed to be helicoiled
so that was done and i dont know what happened but someone did something wrong
i was told by two other machine shops that it was easily repairable i just dont want to go through all the crap again... so im selling it dirt cheap just to hopefully get rid of it

SpoolinLS, these statements give me an idea that the seller is not a machinist and did not have the ability to diagnose the problems with the block himself. I imagine he went through a lot of frustration listening to different friends, shadetree mechanics, and machinists tell him different opinions re: his block. He appears to tell what he knows and that he basically sold the block itself for free shows (in my opinion) that he was not trying to rip any one off. He could have tried to sell it as a good block for a lot more money, if that was the case.
You are dealing with a used B16 block (with gawd knows how miles miles are on it and what its past was like) that was designed to run with OEM parts (NOT nawwws, boost, smoke weed everyday), and when they are pushed and manipulated to be something they were not meant to be things like this happen.
I am 99% sure the sleeves can be put in another block. You didn't 'lose' any money on this deal, so, why not chalk it up to experience and move on? We all know it's best to look, touch, feel, taste, before we buy anyway.

I have always told this to people. when you buy used items don't expect , dont ever expect it to be perfect. If you do get something/deal that is perfect then consider yourself lucky and not consider it as how it suppose to happen. I bought some pitons and rods and a engine head and it turns out pretty much everything is crap
so all i can say i hope golden eagle can put the sleeves into another b16a block and if you want ill be getting one in about a month ill give it to you if you pay the shipping
