Default rewire oem knock board for neptune/hondata?

is it possible to reroute the output signal from the oem b series knock board to one of the inputs onthe neptune/hondata board?
that way the ecu has the knock sensor and the board enabled but never gets the signal from knock board to actually adjust

from what i understand the knockboard decodes the knock sensor readings on its own then sends a signal to ecu and it adjusts for knock

You can maintain oem knock functionality if you're using the demon in an ecu that has it (P72, etc).

Problem is, the stock knock board is only useful with its intended motor in its stock configuration.

No i mean to reroute the signal that goes from knock board to ecu so it goes to rtp instead

Allow me to try and interpret this. You want to log raw knock input but you want to disable ignition adjustments from knock. Is this correct?

Yea i figured that the knock board receives the input from the sensor processes it then sends signal to ecu where it then adjusts timing for knock.
So if i get the output from knock board i should be able to have the reading without it affecting the ecu

I would imagine the knock board sends a binary 5V output, I'm not sure which leg it's on though. Easiest way to tell would be tapping the end of the knock sensor with a small screw driver (while it's grounded) to simulate a knock event, and monitor each pin for a response.
But I thought you had KnockSense which has its own filtered output, why bother with the stock circuit?
On the other hand it might be useful for tuning with Crome if you could find what leg the knock output goes to, you could intercept the stock signal with your KnockSense instead... However the ECU tends to throw a code if it doesn't hear enough noise from the sensor, you'd have to modify the filter. Probably just a few resistors though.

The knock board outputs a 0-5v signal to the ECU board that is relative to the amount of knock detected. If the knock sensor is enabled within the ROM/software, then the ECU expects to see this signal varying. Within smanager the amount of knock detected will be displayed as K level, while K retard is the amount of ignition retard applied. As far as I am aware, there is not the ability to disable K retard while leaving K level operational within any of your software options (Neptune/Crome/Hondata). As you've mentioned though, you may be able to intercept the 0-5v signal on the ribbon cable going from the knock board to the ECU board. You should be able to leave the knock sensor disabled on the ROM/software and still receive the 0-5v signal from the knock board. AFAIK the knock board is still active with knock sensor disabled within the software as all it is doing when you disable it is that the ROM is no longer "looking" for the 0-5v signal coming to the ECU board from the knock board....

Is it a pulse based magnitude signal or is it just passing along individual events as pulses? It would be cool if it worked out to be something 5V PWM-like that you could then and use in sensor adjustments, but that might be a long shot.

that's what I was hoping for lol that way we might not need kncksense or any extra parts
I have 3 ecus with knockboard but not much knowledge about electronics besides poking around with voltmeter

Try and get yourself a scope to poke around with. Work your way through the pins and write down what you find. Do you have an engine sim by chance?
