My 2001 civic idles rough and sometime will almost stall. Off idle it seams to be running fine. All I have looked at is the spark plugs and air filter and both are good. Someone I spoke to said this is normal on these cars but I don't buy that. Anyone with ideas on this?

 

Start the car in neutral and rev the engine to 3000rpm maintain it there for 5mins and that should solve your problem, btw this is my way of doing it but the service manual says you rev at 3000rpm in neutral till the fan comes on then let the engine idle for 5 minutes. You should do this anytime you disconnect the battery or reset the ECU. Hope this helps
