i have free access to a pressure washer at a gas station, but i've heard some bad stories about pressure washers... are they a bad idea? the front and rear bumpers aren't OEM painted, they were replaced and repainted.. i'm concerned with the paint because i saw someone's ITR lip chipped to hell from one. any concerns? thanks!
pressure washing is cool for the engine but no need to pressure the wash the outside of the car.
and the paint in the engine bay should withstand it

I used to always have to use the coin-op pressure washer when I lived in an apartment. It never hurt my paint and all, even my front bumper which is all chipped to hell from driving on the highway. It is an OEM bumper and paint, though.
i always take my car to those quarter car washes with the high pressure sprayer and its never hurt any of my paint jobs. you should be fine..
I've always used the pressure washers... never had any problems. On second thought, it wouldn't be a great idea to fire the water point-blank on the car. Swivel the sprayer side to side when rinsing to be on the safe side. Of course I am sure you knew that.

that ITR probably didn't have OEM paint. anything other than the OEM paintjob is susceptible to chipping. i'd just use the pressure washer for fenderwells, and undercarriage. using a simple shower style head for the body is probably the best and safest.
