Default Quiet but light exhaust???

Is there a decent quality exhaust for our cars that is not annoyingly loud but not really heavy? I'm going to be coming from a turbo car with no exhaust to a 12:1 n/a motor. I'd like to be able to put it through it's paces without waking every cop within a mile, but I hate big heavy exhaust too.

on a smaller engine the resonator cuts most of the noise
I had a hole in my muffler pipe past the resonator and couldn't tell unless I got on it

I guess thats something to keep in mind but you might not be running a resonator.

A resonator and a thrush muffler or maybe even a glasspack might get you by

Megan Racing is what I run on my turbo B16, sounds good and not too loud until you get on it. Weighs in at about 14-15lbs, which is about the norm in aftermarket catbacks. The rest is custom fabbed from the engine back. The apexi N1 is also good and weighs in at about 15lbs last I checked. Running it through its paces will require it to be wide open, and you're not really gonna quiet it down. But for general driving and to get a good feel for it, you're looking at having to run a baffle/silencer in that exhaust to keep the noise level down other than what you may get out of the MR or apexi in reduction.

I have a 12.5:1 non vtec engine that is daily driven, and am using some generic ebay type exhaust that has no packing left in the muffler and a perforated core resonator, its probably 60mm. my intake noise is louder at full throttle...

Go with 2.5" all they way back, put in the longest resonator you can and I've had pretty decent luck with whatever brand name Turbo mufflers. They don't restrict the flow much, they cut the sound down, they are lightweight, and they're relatively inexpensive.
