Ok so i took my 2001 honda lx v6 to the honda dealership because my green key keeps flashing preventing my car from starting. Ive replaced everything from fuel pump, crank sensor shaft, main relay installed a brand new battery and purchased a used ecu from my states #1 salvage yard. Well the tech at honda thought my key was the problem so the cut and reprogramed me another only to find out the security system locked it out. Now he says my ecu is faulty and unless i purchase a new one from them for 600$ i should take my csr as a lost and donate it.!!!! Please tell me theres another option out there.. i invested alot of money in the car i dont wanna give up on it.. but should i??? Please help any answer is appreciated!!(

 

Talk to some local locksmiths. This sounds immobilizer related. Its not often an ecu goes bad but it is possible.

 

I would have tried the "e-brake override code" before getting this deep into it.

With the replacement PCM, the PCM would need to be re-programed to the current key.
