Hey guys I was looking for some help. I read the FAQ's on the swaps but don't know the average pricing or even what swap to even choose. I currently have a 94 eg with a d16z6. A couple of my cousins say to swap an b18b ls motor. My only problem with that is obviously... No VTEC. Can anyone help me on average prices or what to even put in?

 

cheapest swap for you is a b18b swap from a 94 to 01 integra.

If you get a 1996 to 2001 swap, you will have to source another ecu ( either obd1 p75 or chip your current ecu ) .

If you can find a cheap donor integra, that would be the best, swap the full drivetrain ( engine, transmission, axles, shift linkage, mounts ) to your car.

Or junk yard find.

The next most affordable swap would be a b16 motor with LS transmission ( but not as fun as having the b16 transmission ) .

the best bang for buck option, many have done is go with a B18B full swap ( LS ) . And once you have saved extra $$ , install a Vtec head on the motor to create a LS/Vtec hybrid.

Also, a B16 with an LS transmission is quite possibly the worst idea I've ever heard.

Thanks guys. ive been away from this thread for a bit and managed to pic up a gsr motor for $400. a buddy of mine wrecked his car and the story goes on from there.

 

Nice score on the GSR motor, assuming it's not beat to ****.

One thing I would do, before jumping into the swap, is to go over the motor with a fine tooth comb. Replace all your seals, timing belt, water pump, etc. (Unless they were very recently done).

I did this on the last couple of swaps I did, as having the motor out of the car makes doing crappy jobs soooo much easier, and way less time consuming.
