engine swap undecided
well i got a 94 honda civic EG i have 2,000 to drop a motor in. but don't know which one. I just got a bugget of that amount. I was thinking of getting a b18 ls non vtec and then dropping a b16 vtec head later on.. what you guys think? is their any other place i could get a motor for less?.. help please

Do an h2b swap. H series motor with b series trans. I live in Indiana and its being sold on the indy Craigslist for $800. With the usual bolt-ons and a tune or chip for e85 you can have a deep 12 second car. The h2b swap is called the k killer for a reason...

With $2000 doing a b18b swap would be the best thing and the simplest thing if you're on a tight budget. The motor has a lot of potential as a cheap boostable motor.
If i wasn't dead set on an h2b, I would most certainly boost a b18b.

ill go with a gsr swap with bolt ons in the future it should be a lot a fun
In chicago you can get a close to complete swap for a little less than. 2 grand
And you'll have a lot of funn with it too

H22 long block - $1000
GSR/B16 tranny - $1000+
there will be no money left to buy the H2B kit. What kind of advice is this? Seriously, the OP should look into a simple LS (B18b1) complete swap.
