I have a 2000 Civic DX hatchback with a 00 GS-R swap w p28 ecu.
My problem is when I put the key in to turn on I would have to prime it from cold start a couple times to actually even have it finally turn over, first time it always turns off then after a couple times it starts. I have spark, air is good, so Im thinking its the fuel pump/filter. Im using the stock fuel pump that it had for a single cam. Maybe this is the problem that not enough fuel is pumping or its clogged to make the engine turn over??? any information would be great. this is my first build. Thanks

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you have the wrong ECU for your set up. P72 should be the one to use.

 

Does the P28 ECU have a GSR basemap chip?

 

yes the p28 has a baseman for gsr, sorry if i didn't put that down

 

Post all CEL codes.

When was the fuel filter last replaced? Have you measured the fuel pressure and tested the FPR?

 

I haven't checked on the CEL codes and no I haven't measured the fuel pressure nor tested the FPR. The fuel pump was stock for the single cam.

 

Start with CEL codes and go from there.
