Installing Radio Antenna
1990 Civic Si hatch
Ok, so I made the mistake of pulling out the old antenna without attaching a string to it first. Lesson learned on that one. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to re-install the new one.
I have a metal coat hanger stretched out, and am trying to figure out where the antenna wire is supposed to pop out underneath the fuse box area. I have spent over an hour fiddling with it with no luck.
Can someone please take a picture of theirs installed and where the cable comes out of the bottom of the A-pillar? Or just describe it to me?...
Thanks all,
Matt

Hey Matt,
I hope I can explain. First, using real good electrical tape, attach the wire to the tube, feed the antenna wire in the hole. Oh, i forgot, remove the drivers kick panel first, you should see some grey sticky foam covering a hole. This is were the antenna will end up. Go back to step 1. The only issue you will have is finding the hole the antenna tube ends up in. It really is easy, done around 100 of them when the rexes surfaced in the 80's to my current one. Good luck and don't panic.

Dave

Remove the sill plate from the car, then you will see the foam stuff, peel it back, look for the hole with the antenna. You might procuring a factory service manual, it can provide a lot of insight to repair and maintenance of your car. The factory manual is the most complete of any available, don't accept substitutes.
