6000k, 7000k and 8000k hids!!
does anyone wat these number mean on hid kits?? I heard the higher the number the more color it had. I also heard that 8000k gave a purple output and the 6000k were the blue. I DON'T EVEN KNOW!! If anyone really know, please reply

the higher the color temperature rating (in degrees kelvin), the more blue or purple it is. You also get less light. The HID bulbs are actually tinted to get that color temperature, just like ricer blue halgoen headlight bulbs.
Clear HID bulbs are the best and will be in the ~4300K range. That will give you the most light output.

4300 is perfect, its pure white w/ a slight slight yellow hue. 4300 gives the most light. 5000 and 6000 are blue, looks cool, but visible light is less that 4300.

Yea..the highest I would go is 6000k, and thats pretty damn blue. 4300k is the whitest, brightest, and best for all-around "practical" use. But if you like colors, than get the higher #s...

you cant.. ive never heard anything about this 25% stuff..there isnt a magical button on the ballast that lets you control power levels.. they all work at the same wattage, temperature, and voltage.

the only reason i know this is because i was bull shitting with the main mechanic when my dad bought a 2002 330CI about a month ago

new HID kits come w/ a dimmer right? i need that. i blind oncoming traffic all the time. but...that mite be cause i never adjusted it.
