steering rack question
yes. its designed to be able to remove with BOTH inner tie rods on.
just gotta figure it out. need to turn the pinion it one way or the other to retract it to shorten one end.
also need to clear the exhaust and shift linkage.
its detailed in the manual.

I got it in, but I think I have the steering completely backwards. When I turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, the driver side inner tie rod is suppose to stick out( towards the left side)??

I'mhaving a problem with my uca. My driver side sits about 16 and a half inches from hub to fender, my passenger side is 15 and a half. My passenger side UCA was the Moog one, already came adjusted just bolted it in. My driver side was a gay falcon one and I had to eyeball adjust it at a 90 degree angle. How do I go about adjusting the UCA, do I loosen the pivot bolts then raise the control arm till its 15 and a half and tighten them?
Also my driver side outter tie rod boot issquished, like really bad and my passenger side isn't squished at all( barely installed both) should I take off the outter tie rod and re adjust it? Does it have to do with the thread count for the alignment; can that affect the boot?

When I replaced UCA bushings on my EG, I measured the distance from the center of the wheel up to the fender arch. After install of the bushings & bolts (loose), I then jacked the LCA to mimic that ride height distance. Then I tightened and torqued the UCA bushing bolts.
Keep in mind this is tricky cause of limited space for wrenches.
As for the boots, One may be twisted. The instructions say to grease the tie-rod where the small end of the boot seals. Even still, this small end (with it's coil clamp) can grip the tie rod really tight. When this happens, sometimes the boot twists up when you make alignment adjustments (cause your spinning the tie rod). Once the tie-rod is locked down, you should be able to spin the small end of the boot back until it's no longer bunched up.
