i have a 2000 ex coupe. everytime i take off or almost come to a complete stop i hear a clunking noise. Also when i am moving slow like in a parking lot and I turn it makes the noise again. I can feel it in my feet and the floor sometimes. I get scared cause it feels like my car is gunna come apart sooner or later. I've changed inner and outer tie rods. lower and upper balljoints. wheel bearings. but the noise is still there. i've heard the rack and pinion bushings should be checked also. i've looked and found no write up on the rack and pinion and i've lost my haynes manual and cant afford to buy a new one. its a power steering system. any help is much appreciated.

 

Firstly, forget the Haynes manual. download the Factory Service Manual for your vehicle and start from there.

Well, a simple search would have gotten you that answer....

 

Have you tried checking the axles and bushings up front for tears?

 

Was your car making the noise before you replaced the tie rods and ball joints? Did it start making the noise after one of the replacements? Did you replace the tie rods and ball joints at different times or all at the same time?

Do you get a clicking sound when turning? Does the sound happen on flat, smooth roads or only on rough surfaces/speed bumps?

What have you already done to try and find the source of the noise?

First of everything else!!! Get your *** under the car and take pics, look around for anything that might look out of place, loose, ripped boots, etc..e.tc...etc.e.te.c.et.ec...
