Head Gasket leak at 303k miles
The head gasket on my 99 honda accord 4cyl with 303k blew the other day and I was wondering what my options are. I would rather just replace the gasket but at that many miles I have heard of people finishing the job and 200 miles later the car started using alot of oil. A engine swap really isnt in my price range and although I know how to do the head gasket so is it worth spending my time on this? Before it blew and even now when it starts it runs fine and has alot of power it should last at least another 100k if it wasnt for this but now im having doubts
any input on this and success stories of high mileage things like this would be appreciated

Never did a compression test since the problem it has is already obvious. even if I replaced the head would the rest of the engine have a chance to live many more miles? I guess this is my main concern cause I dont mind pulling the engine apart. but I just want to have some what of assurance that it would be fine after this job.
having the head off that thing takes 40 minutes, super easy job. i'd toss a gasket in it and keep going. naturally replace the intake manifold gasket, valve cover gasket, and spark plug tube seals while you're there...

You guys needs to get priorities straight, I'd rather have the intake manifold gasket leak instead of re-using a stretched head bolt. If you can't do it right, consider something else. It is things like this where you throw money at a car and try to recoup it from driving it. Sometimes you have to throw in the towel, and do better next time. Just something to think about.
