Default Fuel pump power source?

I am planning on upgrading the wiring to my fuel pump in the next few days after my pump comes in the mail.I understand how to wire up the relay and everything needed to make it work but my question is where would you guys choose to get power or to connect the dedicated power wire?I see tons of threads on here either saying to run it directly from the battery or the alternator post.I was planning on using the battery post but I jjust wanted to ask if the alternator would be a better choice? My understanding is the alternator constantly chabges voltage so that doesnt seem to make sense to me so I figured I would ask in here.FCM if you have time chime in buddy I hate always having to pm you and taking up your time lol.

Run it right to the battery, no benefit going to the alternator.

I forgot what size gauge i used but mines is connected straight from the battery with an inline fuse about 5 inches away. Relay is a must, don't forget to wire it up correctly.

Definitely. Always fuse 6-12" from a power source!

I run dual pumps and use a 75 amp relay directly to the battery and the trigger is the original pump wire.

As mentioned, direct to the batt., or the alt. it makes no differance, [voltage is the same] either way a fuse or fusable link as close to connection point as possible, but within a few inchs is required. 94
