Default How much coolant for the D16A?

I am doing a engine swap. I'm replacing a mini me with D16A. I wanted to know how much coolant does a D series need. this way I will know how much antifreeze to mix for a 50/50 mix.

Overhaul capacity on the 92-95 D-series motors does not reach 5 liters, the most being 4.8 Liters.

If you make up 5 liters you should have more than enough to fill the D16A and be able to burp it etc.

You need distilled water to mix coolant. Just buy 50:50, unless you work in a chem lab and have access to accurate volumetric containers.

go buy a jug of straight antifreeze and get you an extra empty jug and pour half into the empty jug and distill you some water then fill both jugs up. BAM you have your self 2 jugs for the price of one. don't over analyze the issue!

whenever i change/fill my radiator i start with a cold engine, fill up the radiator with the engine off, then start your car, as the engine warms up and starts circulating the coolant the level will go down, start adding more coolant. you will see some bubbles so just keep adding more. once the engine is all the way warmed up it will start pushing out the coolant, you then know its time to put your cap back on. also make sure that your temperature **** in your car is turned all the way HOT so it can circulate through the heater core. when done i always add a little coolant to my over flow bottle as well.

BTW:this is just my .02 and the way i do things and it has never failed me!
