Default Apexi RSM + CEL - Help.

I purchased the older Apexi RSM and wired it up tonight.

I drove her steadily for about 2 miles and my CEL comes on. So I immediately stop and turn the engine of for 5 minutes.

I then start her back up and turn around to head home and 45 seconds later the CEL comes on again.

Does anyone know what can be causing this? Obviously something to do with the RSM but what??? anyone else had similar problems? ive searched the board but found nothing related to this.

Things you should know are :-

1. I wired up the RSM to remove my speed limiter, and set the RSM to the 200kmh setting.

2. When I reset my ecu i let her run for 10 minutes without touching the throttle as your meant to do.

I have read how to read the ECU Code but when i look at the green service connector there seems to be 2 blue plugs there and not just one, So i dont know which plug to short???

Help me please!

Oh and its a JDM 96 DC2

I found the procedure searching on here.

I cant pull the code as I dont know which blue plug to short as there are two in the service connector.

If you tell me which one I will go and check

There are 2 plugs there but one is a 3 pin and the othere is a 2 pin. What is meant by 2 pin 3 pin is the amount of cavities in the conn not all the cavaties my have a wire in them. You need to short the 2 pin blue conn with 2 wires and then you'll get the MIL light to flash you the code. HTH

looks like you hooked it up wrong or a hell of a coincedence because a flash code 8 is for the tdc sensor basicaly the distributor. My advice is get a helms etm or at least have someone look it up for you that you tapped into the right wires at the ECM. Sorry goodluck

So i double checked the code and its still a code 8, i reset the ecu and its done exactly what it did last night.

If i tapped into the wrong lines then i would have thought my RSM would not pick up speed/revs etc but it does.

The only thing i can do now is remove it !

If there is something wrong with the tdc, is there any way of checking it?

Also if i had never reset the ecu before is it possible that it would pick up an error after reset that it wasnt picking up before?

Yep just found it, when the car was running i pushed the loom around the ecu and she died.

I restarted and CEL is on, thing is can someone point me in the direction of a P73 pin out diagram, so I can work out which wire is related to the tdc sensor i presume its one of the ignition ones.
