2000 Civic EX aftermarket head unit dimmer

2000 Civic EX aftermarket head unit dimmer
Does anyone know if I can get the dimmer to work in a aftermarket head unit? I have a Sony MEX-N500BT unit and it's a little bright and overpowering at night.

Yeah I hooked up the orange wire and it's still bright, I'll try messing with the dimmer switch to see if that works.

most aftermarket decks have a built in dimmer, I recently put a deck in a buddy's civic(6th gen) and never wired up the "dimmer" the deck was a clarion. we just found it in the "options"

Mine also has it in the options but, i have to slide my dimmer back and forth to make the deck dim. I have the Pioneer Appradio3.
