Default Questions about JDM B16 swap into 00 Civic Si

Alright. I don't know if this is the right place but I'm really needing any help I can get with my swap.

I have a 2000 si. Has the original b16a2 engine and S4C trans.

I bought a jdm b16 that was just rebuilt by my buddy with stage 2 parts. It came with an ls trans. It did not come with a dizzy.

It came with gsr linkage but I'm not worried about that.

The crank turns and it has fresh seals all around. It also came with a p2t ecu. I'm guessing that's it based on the mid 3 letters. The wiring harness is totally disconnected besides the injectors.

He had it in his 99 si and then pulled it. I have been reading around everywhere and everything I find is all confusing and not the same.

I have some questions. Can I use my original OBD2 wiring harness? Can I use my dizzy from my b16a2? There is the wiring harness on the engine but I have no clue what vehicle the harness is from. The block is from a '93 so it is a second gen OBD1.

I blew up my S4C trans so I plan on swapping the ls trans over to get my car moving again but I still want to do this swap.

Please help me with giving me more info on what I need to buy and what I can use over from my em1. Thank you.

hello, in my experience and I've called HASPORT to confirm this already. you can mix and match a few things between obd1 and obd2 but your ecu must be an obd1... it also depends on the harness as well... you can tell if its an obd1 or obd2 easily by taking a look at the dizzy plug, if its a one connector its obd2 and if its a two piece connector then its obd1.... that will tell you if you can use an obd1 dizzy and alternator or obd2 because of the plugs.... regardless of what parts you can swap over if the engine or harness is from obd1 then you must stick with an obd1 ecu.... I've have actually done this exact swap into an integra.... i had a 2001 integra with an obd2 harness and i swapped an obd1 jap spec b16A into it and i used an obd2 dizzy and alternator with an obd1 ecu and she ran like a champ... also you can use your engine harness from your stock b16a2 and you can use your your stock b16a2 dizzy but you will need to make sure that the alternator is obd2 as well because an obd1 will not plug into an obd2 harness...hope this helps!!!

Use your Si harness. Reuse your A2 distributor. If it was in his 99 in assuming it still has the OBD2 injectors, if so use those. The rest for the most part should be plug and play with the exception of a few items:

-CKF won't be on the JDM engine, so either bypass it (search for CKF bypass) or swap over oil pumps and item from the crank pulley related to it from the A2.

-the Alternator in his car should have been OBD2 if not you'll need to swap the old one from your A2 over

-the intake air temp sensor on the engine of it is OBD1 is on the intake manifold so you'll either need to retain your intake arm and place it in there or swap plugs too the obd1 style and plug it in

Yes you can use the P2T Ecu, you don't have to swap to OBD1 but it will be easier to avoid emissions components (check with your local emissions as if your testing is done with plugging in the scanner the obd1 won't read and won't pass).
