Use your original harness. It'll make the swap ALOT easier.

I just did a B16A2 swap into a 96 Civic DX and I used the DX harness and just added the extra wires.

What ECU will you be running?

gsr p72... the motor is originally obd0 its the first generation b16.... i converted alot of it to obd2 except for the injectors still waiting on those. im still debating on weather to go ls/vtec or just drop in the b16a1... so i can use the existing harness

I wouldn't drop a first gen b16 into that car if I were you.

First off, you car had a hydrolic tranny and now will have a cable tranny.

Second, a 2gen b16 will bolt right up unlike the first gen.

Third and final, if I had the option of a ls/vtec.....I would mos def drop that in before that 1st gen b16.

But hey....it's your car.

It will work fine. It seems that you have mostly everything covered. Just use the obd2 injectors and modify your exsisting harness.

Actually it will never run correctly unless you do something major before dropping in the motor. You plan to run it as OBDII but the block in a non-OBD B16A. You will need to switch to an OBDII oil pump so that you have a Crank fluctuation sensor. Without this you will constantly run a CEL.

so i switch to obd2 oil pump i can wire in the crank fluncuation sensor? Now im kinda leaning more towards the ls/vtec.. for the amount of money im spending on putting this together i can build an ls/vtec.... also you guys probably think im a moron for trying to swap a b16a1 into an ek but i got this motor for free from my brother so i really havent spent any money on it at all, all the parts that i got for it i got through trading parts off the original motor.

He is right, but why would you want to run an obd2 gsr ecu with a b16 anyways? That is the worst ecu for that motor. I would recommend either getting a jdm itr ecu, which will plug right in, or get a obd1 p28 or p30 with an ecu jumper. Both of those ecu's dont look for the ckf sensor, which is nothing major. As for the motor not bolting up, that is bullshit. Just use ek mounts. And fukka ls/vtec.

im just curious why you say fukka ls/vtec? they make some serious power... and about going down to obd1 i was thinking about doing that too.. just need to find someone to buy my ecu.
