So my 96 4dr's passenger side window will only roll up and not down,i replaced the motor and regulator as well as the switch, the master switch(Driver side/not replaced yet) controls all windows except the passenger side, so there is no contact there, but when i switch the lock, i am not able to roll the window up with the passenger side switch, but when i turn the lock off, i am then able to roll the window up on the passenger side switch. i took apart the switches and found black soot everywhere and cleaned the terminals up with fine steel wool to improve contact, still no progess. Master switch sometimes not roll up window unless the fuse is flipped around but not changed or when i push up on the harness, sounds liike a bad master switch, any insight would be appreciated.

 

hello, i had this same problem on my 99 EK sedan i just bought. i was able to bypass some of the switches. for me the master switch had a bad ground so i just grounded the black wire to the door. i am able to roll the passenger front window down but not up. but i can use the passenger switch and it goes up and down. i found that that door switch was bad and i put it in the rear. though the rear passenger wont be able to roll the window up and down my master switch can so no problem there just need another switch. i found the diagram on this site. I also had to ground the passenger front window switch. there are two wires with constant 12v when you toggle the switch it suppose to to invert that voltage making the window go up. check the door connectors and the grounds then switch the switch with the rear one. best of luck.
