I got this code and engine management light on.

When the car is cold it starts ok and i can drive fine for a few miles and the light will sometimes be off.

Then after about 8 miles the engine light comes on and the rev counter stops working and it runs badly.

Once the car has cooled down the rev counter will work again and the light will either stay on or go off.

Its really odd. Runs fine when rev counter works and light is off..

Any thoughts ? I thought it could be the sensor but from what i have read it may not be..

NB. Someone suggested it could be the diff cap so replaced it and leads and is still the same.

See if this leads you in the right direction.

 

Distributor issue, if you're tach isn't working than your ecu isn't see a sensor from the distributor.
