I get this weird bucking or stalling sensation at around 55 mph in 5th gear. It feels like its just not firing, not back firing.
The cap and rotor are fairly new, as are the fuel filter and fuel pump. The plugs and wires are about 2 years old.
And I had to replace the starter the other day.
Am I looking at getting a new distributor?

After blowing my load on parts to get the suspension back in line (new upper and lower control arms for the front end) I have decided to convert it to odb1 and use the distributor that came with the engine. Seeing as eventually I am planning a mini me for this and it will allow me to dump the dpfi now.

Will I be able to run a mpfi with a vtech ecu without the vtech? It will be a little while before I can have the car down long enough to install a new head and I want to take my time with the head and match the ports etc on it.

 

If anyone is interested this turned out to be a crap Autozone Rotor that caused this to happen. I should have taken pictures of it but basically the hole that the bolt goes in had become elongated some how. Looking for a decent rotor right now because I don't like replacing a crap part with another crap part.
Anyone got a good source for a decent one?
