Difference in water pumps (B16A2 vs. B18C1)
Just like topic says. Reason i ask is I have Ls-Vtec and im running a Gsr belt with a b16 water pump. We cant get the timing belt to tighten up all the way. We think that the gsr pump may be a little different from the B16 pump. Thanks any info will be helpul.
all the "vtec" water pumps are the same..
it should say "22T" on the sproket...
the angle of the blades on the turbine should at a 45 degree angle from center..

ok we might have a problem......my pump has 18t stamped on it. What pump do I have. Im guessing a 18t is not a vtec pump. Please respond ASAP
thats funny, i thought non-vtec water pumps had 19Teeth...?
does yours even say "HONDA" or "YAMADA" on it?!? cause mine says both!
did it come in a pink bag???
go get a real vtec water pump..!

this is the strangest thing......I personally took that water pump off my b16 block and put it on my ls-vtec motor. My old bottom end had never been tampered with (that i know of). So i have no clue on how i ended up with a non-vtec pump. kinda spooky being its the day after halloween
. Im glad the shop caught this little mix up cause im sure on the dyno with a GSR belt and LS pump plus 18 psi, things could of got nasty
. Well thanks for all the info guys, my car will be finished early next week. Ill be sure to post my dyno plot.
