whats up HT i have a weird issue going on with my 97 civic.. sometimes the car starts and sometimes i have the pop / jump start it.. i have a brand new battery in there, plugs wires cap rotor all been recently changed. sometimes the car will start and sometimes it wont its like the flip of a coin. when im driving it sometimes my radio will die and come back on idk of thats related or not. also i noticed sometimes my cluster lights flickering. i checked all my grounds and all are ok what should i check for next?

 

WAG, based on what just happened with me: Fuel Pump Relay ? Wiring?? Fuse??? ...

*My 95 recently also "cut out while driving and would not start back up." Checked some wiring, replaced something that may or may not have needed to be replaced.. seems to be working in fine order, at this time.

Not sure why your cluster gauges are flickering, but the light for "D4" on my cluster is out. All else light up..

 

I had a similar issue and it was my ignition switch. Does it die randomly while driving? Id try to jiggle the keys a little while its on. I'm no expert though.

 

Honda have recalled several types of electrical switch where too much current have either melted the solder or pitted the sliding contacts inside the switch, stalling the car in traffic. Some switch even develop crud from the factory grease creating an open circuit, stalling the car in traffic. Please take note whether the instrument warning lights immediately go out when the vehicle stalls. Every Honda has to light up the instrument once stalled. A car stalling without the warning lights (while the horns or brake lights work) is an indicator of a bad ignition switch.

 

the car never stalls. i mean never. just turns on basically whenever it feels like it. i got in this morning and it started. took a few seconds to start but it did. i feel like if i park it leave for a while it will start but if i turn it off and try to turn it back on it wont. good thing i live on a hill so i can pop this thing but still i wana fix this
