Default 2000 Honda Accord electrical problems

I have a 2000 honda accord that recently has been giving me hell. It started after I changed the cabin filter. When I had finished and everything was back together, i started to notice that the clock, door locks, dome light, power windows, brake lights (exterior), headlights, and the a/c don't work. Nothing works when the car is off, and when it is on, everything works except for the brakes lights, clock, and windows. I'm at a loss.

The dash works fine.

I rechecked the wires around the cabin filter and nothing is cut or disconnected, i left the ground wire alone during the filter swap.

Anybody have any idea what may cause all of these issues at the same time?

What trim level is this; LX, EX, etc.?

First check driver's side under-dash Fuse No. 9 (7.5A).

It is an EX. I checked the passenger side fuses and all under the hood. Everything looked fine. I'll check the driver side also.

The fuse on the drivers side is fine. My manual says that is for the instrument lights which all Work fine. Any other suggestions?

Driver's side Fuse no. 9 protects the Back-up lights, Brake light failure sensor, Clock, Driver’s and passenger’s multiplex control units, DRL indicator (Canada), Gauge assembly, Security system (USA except EX), Shift lock solenoid (A/T). Some of the items you mention runs through the multiplex control units.

Then check the under-hood large fuses such as Fuse No. 54 (40A), etc.

I fixed everything but the brake lights with the backup clock fuse (7.5A) passenger side. The running lights are fine, blinkers work, and others are good but the brake pedal is still unresponsive on both tail lights and the rear window light. I suspect the pedal switch has gone bad, but are there any other guesses?

You mentioned the ground wire. Is this the one attached to one of the metal bars you needed to remove? It's a very thin one which has a bearing on the multiplexer. I changed the cabin filters on my 99 EX and was playing around with things with it removed to see what would happen. The dome light didn't work correctly, right passenger window worked, but was kind of goofy, and my remote fobs didn't work. Once I grounded it properly everything went back to normal. I know there are circuitry differences between 99 and 00 in the multiplexer you see on the back side of the fuse panel in that area. I'm currently working on trying to find remotes that work all functions and discovered that a 99 EX doesn't play well with a 00 multiplexer and vice versa. A 00, 01, 02 key fob trunk function doesn't work on a 98 or 99.

Check the #47 20 amp fuse in the underhood fuse box.
