Default A REAL timing procedure needed.

I am looking for someone who has the PROPER procedure for timing the D16Z6. I have timed it properly and tensioned correctly, (or what I thought was correct from all I read)only to find slack on the RAD side of belt, over and over. I did use a kit but the tensioner arm bent somehow and now it seems the belt has slack. I hate cheap aftermarket from AdvanceAuto ****. Need procedure and parts recommendation for new belt. I will use old tensioner for now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It seems that you have already identified the problem and it's not procedure related. All procedures basically tell you to do the same thing, install belt, create tension on belt, then tighten down the tensioner bolt. Verify that mechanical timing is correct.

If you feel that "AdvanceAuto ****" is not up to par, try www.rockauto.com or pay for a real OEM part (I did recently and I know it's not cheap but you got to pay to play).

I do understand the procedure but there is variances between them. I would like to set the proper amount of tension and not HELP the tensioner spring at all. So whats the BEST way to tension the belt?

Lets not act like we're buying million dollar parts for exotic cars. Genuine honda parts for a D series t belt job are...what? $150-175? Not a fortune.

Rockauto has gates kits for about $80. They'll work fine.

I do agree that OP'S issue probably isn't procedure related. Except the part where you're not supposed to bend anything. Also...tensioner arm?

Its that tiny thin arm with the circle in it that mounts to the block, I"m not even sure how its possible to eve bend that.

"B serious" - I know, but you've been around long enough to know that the masses generally complain about prices and their budgets, etc. Plus, we don't all share the same budget when it comes to our hobby/hobbies.

I'm willing to bet the tensioner arm bent when he helped it.

Unless he bolted it down while it was out of position on the spring side?

Probably so, you probably already notice people not admitting to there mistakes, or refusing to give full details on issues, leaving out tidbits here and there.
