So I completely am rebuilding my gsr. I had to bore out the cylinders .040. Should I get oem head gasket or a 81.5mm head gasket since I bored out a little?

 

There isnt an 81.5 head gasket afaik. Oem is fine

 

Really? Cometic makes a 81.5mm head gasket. Oem is 81mm.

Ehh I dont see any point in it though. Go look at how much .5mm actually is. The oem gasket has plenty of bore for an 81.5mm bore without protruding into the cylinder. If any did it would be .25mm worth of gasket material (assuming the gasket is a perfect 81mm)

OEM gaskets come 82mm from the factory. Buy and OEM gasket and you will be just fine.

 

Thats what I thought but I didnt want to say since I wasnt totally sure on the oem gasket bore size

 

Reason I know this is a had a 82mm GSR w/ an OEM HG. Mic'd and old OEM HG and 82mm it was.
