Idle/throttle response nightmare!! Help please!
hey guys new to the forum! here's a quick run down on my current situation:
1992 vx hatch, just did a jdm b16a swap.
since I got it started, iv had a horrible idle surge issue. this was with a skunk 2 tb. and im. The s2 tb didn't have an idle screw, so I swapped it for a stock ls tb. I found that the surging went away when I covered the lower port to the fitv, so I used jb stick putty and blocked all air passages for it. Surging was gone, but I now had an incredibly low idle. I adjusted the idle screw on top of the tb, and got it to idle in a steady range. But now I have a surging idle if I give it a tiny bit of gas, as if I were getting off the clutch/taking off, and I have poor throttle response(cant hold the revs at 1500 rpm, it simply doesn't increase revs if I give it gas, but it can still be revved) it also intermittently tries to shut off with the headlights turned on. I've change the tb and Im gasket and verified I have no vacuum leaks, and bled the coolant a few times. Also I set the tps (brand new) with a digital multi meter, so that's good as well.
Any suggestions?? could the iacv be sticking? Thanks in advance!! all help is appreciated

dude i'd run an fitv. take the fitv apart, clean it w carb cleaner, make sure the big plastic piece inside is tightened down (not too tight!), that's prob where the surging was coming from. also get new gaskets for the fitv, or use some hondabond w the old gaskets when putting back together.
I blocked it off because that port was causing my problem, and it seemed like less headache just to remove that system. iv seen tons of forums where the car is just fine without it, and aftermarket throttle bodies don't even come with it. also, Honda themselves deleted it later on. it's too late to make it work again, I blocked it with jb stick haha.

then adjust your throttle plate to let more air in. should be a screw near the linkage that's set from the factory. your ecu might not like it though, definitely reset your ecu afterwards, and its prob a good idea to recalibrate your tps again to account for the throttle being cracked open a bit more at idle.
never done it before, but that's what i'd try in your situation.
