Idle problem
I installed a b18a tb on my y7 and now it idles 2k. There's no bouncing idle or anything. The butterfly is completely closed and still idles at 2k? Whats up? Before I installed it idled normal and I had a normal idle. Any ideas? Maybe just disconnect the battery for a while and reset the ecu or what? The car still drives normal just that it idle high now.

I did them one at a time. Plus theres one two vaccum lines on the throttle body and you can't really mess them up beng the size of the tubing. Maybe air in the coolant after I took off the coolant lines and put them on the new TB?

Re: Idle problem (egizzle6)
is it throwing a code? I thought my iacv was going bad but it turned out to be a vacuum leak. The vacuum leak was making the iacv search for a steady idle and after a while the iacv would throw a code and the idle would go crazy. I recommend that you reset your ecu for starters.

yeah, bad gasket or just a bad seal could cause this (i.e. there's leftover silocon or other sealant on the TB or IM) Check it out. also check your coolant b/c that can cause this too.

Y7 used a 3-wire IACV.
B18's used a 2-wire IACV.
ECU's meant to control a 3-wire IACV canNOT control 2-wire IACV's, and vice-versa.
