I just installed power door actuators, then realized on the driver side door i need to have my handle open some to lock and unlock the door. Is this a safety device? a glitch in my locks? something i can fix or work around? Its tough for the powerlock to do its job if the handle has to be up for the lock to work...... Any info would be great, i'm getting the alarm attached to the acuators tomorrow and would like to be able to use them.

 

umm try closing the door. It wont lock when its open.

 

its always like that though, even closed you need to pull the handle some to get it to lock. Is it just my lock then? anyone else experience this?

 

Yes, all civics have that feature so that it is harder for you to lock the keys in the car, it is perfectly normal. I have owned two civics with power locks, and both of them I had to pull the handle out to lock the doors.

 

It seems to require the exact same to unlock them, did you find a way to fix it for the power locks? Remote entry is kinda silly if you cant even unlock the door.

 

I learned this too a while back...I thought I was having problems lol. I mustve taken that door panel off 849084 times to double check
