Bad transmission, b18b1 ls auto trans, no shifting, no reverse
I bought a 95 eg hatchback a while ago to take on as a project. The car previously had a b18b1 swapped in and turbo'd. The problem is the transmission is bad. I already have another one lined up, my question is that could it possibly be a simple fix in the meantime? It has an automatic ls trans trans from the swap. The car doesn't shift at all. When I put it in drive, it feels like it only has 4th gear. When I put it in low it feels like it's in second. So I can manual change between 2nd and 4th gears, but that's it. It's robbing me of all my power. I also have no reverse. It used to work half the time but now when it goes in reverse it makes a loud whining noise. Any suggestions for a quick fix, or is it 100% garbage? It's also got a emanage ecu. Could bag programming cause that? Or a loose connection on the transmission ecu?
You can find a manual B series tranny anywhere for a few hundred bucks.. Throw it in, call it a day..
And to answer your question directly, no, there is not a quick fix. By the sounds the tranny is barely operating and needs a full rebuild to operate normally again.
Tranny swap is your only option. Whether you go to manual or stick with the auto is up to you, but in the long run, manual is much more forgiving and easy to fix in comparison.

Ok this is what I thought. I already have another transmission (manual) for it which will be swapped in really soon, just didn't know if there was a quick fix in the meantime. Yea I didn't out the automatic and turbo it, it was the previous guys, hence why I wanna swap. Thanks for the replies
Truthfully, I'm not even sure if that automatic swap was setup correctly. It sounds like the tranny doesn't know what gear it needs to be in at certain speeds so it could be missing the tcm.
its built into the ecu. op- post the numbers/letters on the ecu, or better yet, take a pic of the sticker
No dude......Integras had separate tcm ecu up until 00-01, that was when they had the tcm built into the ecu. But I'm still curious what ecu he is running. It would be surprising if he ran the auto p28 with this setup.
damn, got me. auto p06 maybe, no vtec. ive only ever seen one 5th gen civic with a b series auto swap in person. pretty retarded.
I mistaken alot of **** myself, at least the way I caught it I didn't shoot you in the foot for it and then rubbed it in your face.
