VAFC? - 2 questions.... Tach and vtec settings
I have a new VAFC to install, but If I don't need it that bad then I am going to sell it. I have a 92 dx automatic w/ Y8 mini-me swap. the ecu is a P28. I have no tach cause its an automatic, the manual for VAFC says it has one built in. Is this like a real Tach that will rev with your engine while you drive? Does it move smoothly or is it choppy? I ask cause I want to get a tach anyways and if VAFC had a digital one built in then thats one less thing to buy....
And I was wondering if my car would benefit from a vafc by setting the vtec to kick in sooner, What's a good RPM to program vtec to activate/de-activate? I have no idea right now when mine kicks in cause i have no tach. but being automatic, the gears are real looooong so I could really use some extra top end power from vtec.
Would you say it is worth it? my engine is otherwise stock besides the head/intake manifold and exhaust.
