Default F22B2 to F22A4 question.

I've been looking on the forums and was just seeing if the f22a4 will drop in my 95 Accord that has the f22b2. I'm gonna build the F22a4 for FI. Is the motor mounts the same on the A4 and B2? And will it bolt up to my trans. It's a 5spd. I can't find a forsure answer on here in other forums.

not a very common swap. why not just build the B2? 2.2L displacement should be about the same maybe with some minor modifications

It's fairly straight forward if you have no desire to run power steering and A/C, but it's actually a bit more complicated than it seems. It's far easier to replace the F22B2 with the F23A* or F22B1. The F22B1 is the easiest as just about everything is the same, all that really needs to be changed or added is the F22B1's ECU and VTEC wiring. Also, the F22A* head doesn't see any improvement in flow as-cast over the F23A*/F22B1's head, it only presents an advantage when it's been ported(Which the F23A*/F22B1's head can match up to .5 of lift on the cam) as seen in this thread: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=198425 Most(if not all) OTS regrind camshaft profiles will not be able to take advantage of this. The biggest improvement that can be made is actually the intake manifold, on all F-series engines, which is dependent on camshaft profile, headflow, velocity, and displacement. The ports on the F22A* are substantially larger, but it seems the VTEC heads can make up for it with velocity.

An F23 swap is really just as easy, and inexpensive. There's a couple of things you need to do if you plan to run the F23 intake manifold, but IMO, it's worth it. I just hydrolocked my car this past monday, and will be going the F23 route. The torque is worth it.

Ouch, that sucks. You should take pic's and document the changes needed and post a "how to" on here. I've seen some write ups on other places but not one on here?

Might as well just go junkyard diving for the A6/B6 camshaft and corresponding ECU.

Only if some did the swap previously, as they come in the Odyssey LX's up to '97.
