99 Accord Manual Power Drop Between Shift
Hoping for a little help. I have been doing some research on this forum but cannot find anything current relating to a fairly long term issue I have been having. I started noticing this a few years ago, but only recently have I started learning how to fix minor things myself and paying attention to the performance.
I am wondering if anyone has some insight into what could be causing such significant drop in power between shifts. I usually shift gears between 2 and 3k rpm, but whenever I am going from 1st too 2nd, or 2nd too 3rd there is a about a 1k-1.5 drop in rpm and a huge power loss feeling. This only seems to happen when I have the gas pedal on or just about on the floor. It is also only for a few seconds then the rpm climbs quickly again like it normally should.
Under normal driving, i.e. not flooring it, the performance seems totally fine with no loss of power between shifts.
A few things I have noticed:
A/C does effect how significant the power drops. Even turned off it still happens though.
I thought maybe it was my aftermarket audio system drawing too much power from the battery, but even with the audio system off and the lights off the issue is the same.
I have an AEM CAI, MSD plug wires, E3 spark plugs, Magnaflow cat back exhaust. 123k miles and the factory maintenance up to date.
This could be totally normal too, if so I'll stop complaining.
Hope someone can help

Not sure how likely this is but have you checked your fuel pressure? Maybe your filter is a little restricted and is limiting fuel flow when you have the throttle wide open.

I will look into checking the pressure and replacing the fuel filter.
Thanks for ideas
