Default 98 Civic Trans Fluid Help

Anyone know how I check the trans fluid on a 98 civic auto with a D16y8? Also, anyone know what type of fluid it should take?

Thanks

For Honda automatic transmission fluid I stick with OEM fluid but that's me.

On manual's I will deviate if I've heard good reviews from builders.

Warm up the vehicle. Once it's warmed up put it in park and shut it off. Check the fluid level within one minute of shutting the car off (yellow handled dipstick on the passenger's side)

I think the instructions can also be found in the Owner's Manual.

I have been using Castrol Import Multi-vehicle ATF in my 00 Civic EX. Seems work fine.
