Default B16a2 fuel pressure goes high

I have a 92 eg hatch with a b16a2 engine and trans. P30 ECU. Automatic transmission b signal CEL. AEM fuel rail, not sure what fpr. I have a liquid filled fuel pressure guage it reads all over usually around 30-40 when car is off but when I start it the fuel pressure guage reads 80,90+ and sometimes bury the needle to max. Then if I turn of car you can see fuel pressure going down slowly. Also my air fuel guage reads it's running rich. Another thing is my car starts perfectly fine when cold but if I drive down the road and give it time to warm up and shut off the engine then it won't start back up until engine cools down.

sounds like you have a blockage on the return side. higher fuel pressure is the reason you are running rich too btw. find a junkyard stock fpr and a new return line and see if problem persists

See if the return line is pinched or damaged.

Thanks guys appreciate it. You guys know why my car won't start when it warms up? Like if I drive down the road maybe 2 or more minute drive then I turn it off, it won't start until engine cools back down.

first check fuel pump. u can remove gas cap and listen for the pump when u turn the key to ON. if fuel pump is working u might have a clogged return hose or faulty fuel pressure regulator

Ok well first thing I noticed when I went to my car to remove gas cap there was no pressure release noise when cap was removed. Or do I need to cycle key off to on then try remove cap? Anyways, I will try to see if my fpr is bad I have a friend I will meet soon that will lend me his to try out.

according to the FSM the fuel pump should run for 2 secs when the key is turned to the ON position and u should be able to hear it with the gas cap removed. if the fuel pump is working then check the other things if not then replace fuel pump. if the fuel pump works intermittently then its still likely the pump is going bad.

Thanks for everyone who helped. Fpr was the problem.
