I was installing my toda cam gears last night onto my crower cams and when i went to place the vlave cover on, the bolts on the cam gear were hitting the valve cover
Do they always do this or did i do something wrong?
Thanks in advance

You don't need to cut the valve cover.
Something is installed incorrectly.

they should fit the same way the stock gears fit. no cutting necessary.
no need to cut the valve cover...I'm running around with an uncut valve cover with my TODA Gen 2 cam gears, I have an cut valve cover for tuning purposes.

i torqued them down to the helms manual spec
seems like you just didnt tighten the gears on enough.
i agree you've probably installed something wrong. did you double check to make sure the little cam gear key things are set properly in between the cam and the cam gear itself? and, you were referring to the actual valve cover, right, and not the black plastic cover on the backside of the cam gears (between the head and cam gears)? after i installed mine, i had some rubbing on the plastic and cam gear, but it went away after the plastic rubbed down a little...
Did oyu use the bolts the todas came with? or the stock bolts? todas bolts are longer than the stock ones from what i remember. The hole in the crowers may not be deep enough to allow for them to go all the way in, try using the stock bolts.
