Default Dome light wire (-) and (+)

Hey guys I have a 1997 accord 4 door which i pretty much installed a Viper 3105v alarm. Everything but the Door triggers.

Now I figured I can just use the dome light wires which always turn on when opening any door but I cant find these 2 wires.

Any help? If a picture can be included it would be amazing. Thanks in advance!

For the door open input wire to trigger the alarm, there is a Blk/Wht wire (-) coming from the gauge assembly (aka cluster) to a 20P gray connector (Connector C435) located to the right of the steering column. The Blk/Wire is at pin 5 of Connector C435. That is the same wire used by the optional Honda security system and the stock security system on SE models. You only need to hook up that Blk/Wht wire to the wire for negative trigger on your Viper alarm.

So is this a connection on the steering wheel itself like where the horn wire is or is this behind the dash to the left like the picture says? I know theres a 20 pin connector on the column itself on the top left im guessing its there?

It's under the dash to the right of where the steering column is. Left in the picture means driver's side dash.

Hook it all up with wire tap connectors then use 2 large zip ties to mount it under the steering column support under the plastic trim. The trim has no screws. It just pulls off.

Awesome I did it thanks m8s! Now I know I'm starting to be a pain in the *** but can you give me a diagram for the c435 connector? Like where it shows all the cables colors and what they are for in the dash? Thanks!

Good to hear it's working.

Honda only started including the connector pin-out wiring diagrams (i.e., showing each wire for the connector in one picture) for 98 and on Accords. They didn't have them for your 97 like that.

Hi is there a cable to the speedometer from the steering wheel? For some reason it won't work anymore after installing my alarm. It's the only thing that won't work

No, there is no cable/wire from the steering wheel to the speedometer.

The VSS wire to the speedometer is an orange wire, it goes through a 20P white connector under the driver's side dash and a 20P green connector above the driver's side kick panel. It eventually leads up to the gauge cluster. If you somehow inadvertently cut that orange wire or something, then the speedometer would not work.
